This post exposes ties between New Israel Fund and anti-Israel pro-terror groups.
Who are New Israel Fund’s sponsors? Watch the video or continue reading.
First, there is the Soros’ Open Society Foundations and the Tides Foundation. These two also sponsor the Alliance for Global Justice non-profit. The latter, in turn, sponsors Samidoun and Collectif Palestine Vaincra:
Samidoun is designated as a terrorist organization in Israel, the US, and Canada. Khaled Barakat, one of Samidoun’s leaders, is a senior PFLP leader.
Collectif Palestine Vaincra is a French NGO, a member of Samidoun, that fundraised for PFLP and was recently dissolved for its ties with terrorism.
In addition, New Israel Fund received grants funded through USAID via Tides Foundation, Fidelity Investments Charitable Gift Fund, and the Schwab Charitable Fund.
In parallel, Tides Foundation and Fidelity Charitable sponsors Westchester Peace Action Committee Foundation. WESPAC is the fiscal sponsor of:
National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP)
Within Our Lifetime (WOL)
Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM)
and the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network (IJAN)
These organizations openly support Palestinian terrorism and advocate for the dismantling of Israel.
Another New Israel Fund sponsor is the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.
It also sponsors Defense for Children International – Palestine (DCI-P), which belongs to PFLP and is designated as a terrorist organization in Israel. Another PFLP affiliate that is designated as a terrorist organization is Al-Haq. Al-Haq is also funded by a New Israel Fund sponsor, the Open Society.
All the mentioned sponsors of New Israel Fund–Open Society, Rockefeller Fund, Tides Foundation, Fidelity Charitable, and the Schwab Charitable–sponsor Jewish Voices for Peace (JVP), an American Jewish anti-Zionist organization that closely collaborates with SJP.
Victims of October 7 have filed a lawsuit against Within Our Lifetime, SJP, JVP, and their leaders at Columbia University, alleging they coordinated with Hamas and provided material support for its public relations.
JVP’s Canadian equivalent is Independent Jewish Voices. IJV funding is a topic for another day, but recently, IJV together with the New Israel Fund, supported the New Democratic Party’s statement opposing the IHRA definition of antisemitism.
Soros’ Open Society, Rockefeller Fund, Tides Foundation, and the New Israel Fund itself sponsor IfNotNow, a progressive and anti-occupation affiliate of JVP, and also J-Street. Both advocate for an arms embargo against Israel.
Open Society, Rockefeller Fund, and New Israel Fund sponsor Adalah, an organization that collaborated with and co-hosted events with Al-Haq and Addameer, two groups belonging to PFLP and designated as terrorist organizations.
These aren’t outliers; I only named the most famous anti-Israel organizations financed by the sponsors of the New Israel Fund. The list is a lot longer; it includes Al-Shabakah, Palestine Legal, Grassroots Al Quds, Tru’ah, and countless other lesser-known but equally dedicated anti-Israel groups.
And yet, New Israel Fund is perceived by some as a moderate and mainstream pro-Israel organization. New Israel Fund-sponsored events are hosted at Jewish venues and synagogues across Canada and are endorsed by Jewish institutions and community leaders. For example, Ya’ara Saks, the Canadian MP and the former head of the communications committee of New Israel Fund in Canada, is welcomed by the community. Or the CEO of Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, takes pride in his meeting with New Israel Fund CEO, Ben Murane, the Executive Director of JSpaceCanada, Maytal Kowalski, and David Berson, Chair of the Board of Ameinu.
JSpaceCanada, Ameinu, UnXeptable, Standing Together, Breaking the Silence, B’tselem, and other New Israel Fund grantees and affiliates don’t position themselves as anti-Zionists or anti-Israel. But, indistinguishably from anti-Zionist, anti-Israel organizations, they promote the “apartheid, genocide, ethnic cleansing, war crimes” rhetoric and advocate for an arms embargo and sanctions against Israel. I explored these organizations in my previous posts and videos.
This is beyond political left or right. Especially at times like today, when Israel is being attacked by the Islamic regime and its endless proxies, when the Jewish diaspora is facing an unprecedented rise of antisemitism in our lifetime, in Canada and worldwide.
Moral clarity is crucial: how can anyone who supports Israel be associated with organizations that are financed by sponsors of terrorism and those advocating for the destruction of Israel?
All the information I presented is publicly available.
